I am in the middle of the book, The Classic Ten, by N.M. Smith. Actually, I'm being terrible and not returning it to the library (Okay, its not that bad, I do WORK there!)
So, I set off on a quest to find my ideal "Classic Ten." Of course, I may need more than one of each!!
This is the "Classic Ten" outlined in the book:
♥ The Little Black Dress
♥ The Suit
♥ Jeans
♥ The White Shirt
♥ Pearls
♥ The Trench Coat
♥ Lipstick
♥ Sneakers (Trainers)
But, my personal "Classic Ten" adds a few:
+ The Flats
+ The Bag
+ The Jacket
So:
The Little Black Dress:
First Stop; Anthropologie (Please, give me a new job so I can afford their clothing every single day!)
Of course, the only place which won't let my upload a photo:

But it looks so... versatile! And.. nice.
To Continue Tomorrow, because I'm tired.
Coming with my plan to get a second job this summer (preferably at a catering company, but really...anywhere!) is the desire to start expanding and diversifying my wardrobe. I do so wish I were inherently French, but I believe some of my chic must be learned. I can put the outfits together, but I fall into the familiar ruts of jeans, no accessories, and definitely no makeup. But then again, its rather difficult being high-school going on twenty-five. Its hard to find pieces to spend a significant investment on, while making sure they fit properly and are going to be age appropriate for the years to come. But this is my plan for wardrobe expansion:
Decide what I need to work on, what I like, and what I dislike:
♥ I know I love to flaunt my chest, but I need to find tops that do it tastefully (N.B. get some double stick tape to aid in this)
♥ I need to get to work on a moisturizing regimen for my skin. I have fair, dry skin that goes completely bonkers in the winter, and I don't moisturize nearly enough. I need to be more comfortable wearing dresses in the summer!
♥ Yes, I know I'm definitely old enough to do this, but I haven't ever gotten into the habit of washing my face. I never had to when I needed to be forming the habit, but really, I need to. Badly. Its disgusting.
♥ I need to get my hair cut over the summer. I need to actually pay money and get it cut really really short. Since its so curly, I want it to be cute, and I hope I can get it to do that!
Decide what I need/want my style to be:
♦ Subversively Elegant
I want to be elegant, but in a slightly off sort of way. Definitely unique, and true to who I am. I need to search out unique pieces which fit perfectly and are crafted well
♦ Effortlessly Chic
Many good pieces that fit together perfectly! I don't really want to have to think about what I'm wearing, but I want it all to look good together.
♦Comfortably Accessorized
Part of the reason I don't accessorize is I always then feel the need to tug or mess with whatever I'm wearing!
Decide what bits I need to add:
♪ Dresses! But I need to make sure I can wear a bra with them
♪ Slips/Chemises to go under those dresses
♪ Shorts. I need to get over my fear of ugly legs. My legs, realistically, are fine, and trust me, some people wear things I would never wear, but would be more suited to (body shape, etc.)
♪ Little blazers, for the fine art of layering
♪ Cardigans, because I have... none.
♪ Shoes! Of all kinds! And better quality
♪ And when I turn 20, I've decided to try to gift myself a Mulberry Bayswater bag, if I'm financially in a place to do that.. my first designer bag!
♪ More unique tops
♪ More interesting jeans
Other things to do:
§ Learn how to sew better!!
§ Start thrifting with a passion
Buahah! I made everything private, so basically, I win.
And I haven't updated in a really long time, so I'll try to do that more often.

Nora: My mom called Eileen a vat of misinformation.
Me: She led you astray?
Jen: Eileen leads EVERYONE astray.
Eileen: Not Cheyenne! I'd hesitate before leading her astray -
Riffle: But you'd still lead her astray.
Eileen: But I'd hesitate!
Riffle: Oh, that's SO much better.
